From the heart...

I've been blessed to spend most of my recovery journey working in the recovery field. Walking alongside people and their families during some of the most difficult moments of their lives.

I've had the privilege of meeting people on what feels like their worst day, and then watching some of them go on to rebuild beautiful, meaningful lives. It is a powerful reminder of both the fragility and resilience of the human spirit.

Working in this space teaches you a difficult but necessary lesson: we don't control anyone else's journey. The outcomes, the choices, the timing...those belong to them. Our responsibility is to simply show up with authenticity, compassion, and connection.

To build trust. To let people know they aren't alone. To share our experience. To provide resources and support when they're ready to receive them.

Some will make it. Some won't. And while that reality never gets easier, it reinforces the importance of meeting people where they are, without judgment, and offering hope whenever we can.

Recovery is possible. Connection matters. And sometimes the most powerful thing we can do is simply be present.
